Dedicated to improving the community
Welcome to The Legacy Guild – a community interest company dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of the community.
Through grant and awards application, as well as commercial and industry sponsorship, The Legacy Guild works to enable a variety of projects across the arts, culture, media, and commerce that are of benefit to the community.
We are able to call upon a panel of diverse experts who utilise their particular skills and experience, gained in professions, trades and charity management, to assist the development of community projects and initiatives and help underfunded areas of need.
Join us in creating a brighter future together! Experience the joy of giving back and making a difference in our community. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected, and thriving community for all.
As part of The Legacy Guild’s commitment to supporting the community, we will be sponsoring and mentoring various events throughout the year.
OUR CURRENT PROJECTS
Youth Into Opera
We have developed this programme to introduce young people to the excitement of rehearsing and performing a meaningful and entertaining music drama. The Selfish Giant is a short youth opera by composer Michael Heath that we have introduced by school workshops – see the short Youtube video here Youth into Opera from Legacy Guild.
Subject to funding, we are now looking to developing this project further by offering a set of online classes that can be streamed by schools in order to learn the work and rehearse it for live performance. These classes will provide creativity, confidence and skill. They will also be offered internationally in order to provide not just music tuition but to help children with learning the English language and promote cultural understanding.
Let’s Care with Music
A program designed to transform the lives of those living with dementia and those who care for them. Let’s Care provides resources to help a conversation between loved ones and carers talking about music, which evokes memories and strengthens relationships.
BUGGZ
Following the recent pandemic, this story and these characters have been created to provide young children with a fun way to understand the basic nature of the problem and why antidotes and inoculation (by good bugs) defeat disease and pandemics (caused by bad bugs). The book also contains QR codes to allow children to hear 8 new songs performed by the ‘buggz’ and lyric sheets to allow them to sing along.
We are seeking funding to introduce the book and these characters on a nation-wide basis to help remove children’s natural fear and apprehension towards medical treatments.
The Legacy Guild has just signed a co-operation agreement with The School of Design within Xi’an University in Shaanxi Province, China, to promote cultural, media and arts exchanges and co-operation on projects. The Legacy Guild has also formed an association with Amalgamated Arts to promote music, theatre, film and television projects.
